Why do I need a garage door spring professional?
Can I fix a garage door spring myself?
We do not advise that you try to fix a broken spring yourself. Since garage door springs are under extreme tension, it can be very dangerous.
Only well-trained, qualified technicians should attempt to install, adjust, or repair a broken garage door spring.
At US Garage Door Repair®, our technicians have the training, experience, and expertise to get it done right the first time.
How do you know if you have a broken garage door spring?
Usually, the first clue you get to a broken door spring is the door failing to open properly.
You may notice the door trying to go up but struggling to do so.
It may only lift part of the way up. It's not always the opener that is not working, it may just be a broken spring.
You can check to see if a spring is broken. Go look at the area where the shaft is. You should see at least one black spring or coil.
Depending on the size of your garage door, you may see two of them.
If you notice a separation or gap in the spring, it is broken, and you'll need a garage door spring replacement.
How much does a garage door spring replacement cost?
Garage Door Spring Repair or replacement will run between $80 and $150.
The final price depends on if we need to replace one or two springs, the size of the springs, and the intricacy of your garage door system.
In most cases, it only takes an hour or so to get your garage door in good repair.
